How do I choose a licensed contractor?

Modified on Tue, 10 Dec, 2024 at 9:49 AM

The contractor's license must be certified or registered with Florida's Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) as one of the following types:

  • General Contractor
  • Building Contractor
  • Residential Contractor
  • Specialty Contractor
  • Roofing Contractor

For additional information on contractor’s licenses visit the "Verifying a Contractors License" section.

It is important to verify that the contractor's license authorizes them to perform the recommended mitigation improvements. It is the homeowner's responsibility to ensure that the selected contractor meets this requirement.

PLEASE NOTE: My Safe FL Home will no longer maintain or provide a list of authorized program contractors. It will now be up to each individual homeowner to find and manage their own eligible contractor relationship.
