Applying for a Hurricane Mitigation Inspection (1)

MSFH Program Step 1 - Homeowners submit an Inspection Application via the Applicant Portal https://mysafeflhome.com/. Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Inspection Application approval.

Scheduling an Initial Inspection (1)

MSFH Program Step 2 - Upon Inspection Application approval, the Homeowner schedules an Initial Inspection for the Inspector to determine which, if any, Improvements are recommended for the home.

Receiving an Initial Inspection Report (1)

MSFH Program Step 3 - The Inspector uploads the Initial Inspection Report to the Applicant Portal. Per MSFH Program guidelines, if there are no Recommended Improvements in the Initial Inspection Report, the Homeowner will not be able to proceed with a Grant Application.

Applying for a Hurricane Mitigation Grant (3)

MSFH Program Step 4 - The Homeowner submits a Grant Application via the Applicant Portal on https://mysafeflhome.com/. The Grant Application is made up of two stages: Eligibility Confirmation and Contractor Confirmation. Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Grant Application approval.

Completing a Hurricane Mitigation Project (1)

MSFH Program Step 5 - The Homeowner works with their Contractor to complete a Mitigation Project for improvements on the home, based on the recommendations in the Initial Inspection Report. The Program allows each Homeowner to receive only one (1) Grant Reimbursement/Disbursement and one (1) Final Inspection.

Scheduling a Final Inspection (1)

MSFH Program Step 6 - Upon completion of the Mitigation Project, the Homeowner schedules a Final Inspection for the Inspector to observe any improvements that were successfully completed on the home.

Receiving a Final Inspection Report (1)

MSFH Program Step 7 - The Inspector uploads the Final Inspection Report to the Applicant Portal.

Submitting a Draw Request (2)

MSFH Program Step 8 - The Homeowner submits a Draw Request via the Applicant Portal on https://mysafeflhome.com/. Homeowners must provide all required information and documentation to receive Draw Request approval. Only improvements that are recommended in the Initial Inspection Report and observed in the Final Inspection Report are eligible for Grant Reimbursement/Disbursement.
