Understanding Opening Protection on the Initial Inspection Report

Opening Protection pertains to exterior doors, garage doors, windows, glass blocks, and skylights. Detailed information regarding the current rating of openings in the household can be reviewed on the Initial Inspection Report in Section 7 of the "Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form" or ‘1802’.

In addition to reviewing information on the '1802', Applicants who received Initial Inspections after July 2024 will benefit from the following chart in the Initial Inspection Report, which helps clarify the specific openings being recommended.
